Adam Hughes

Biography

I lead the content policy research team at Meta. Previously, I was the associate director of the Data Labs team at Pew Research Center. My work with Pew Research is available here.

My research interests include content moderation, computational social science methodology, political communication and behavior, and public opinion. I received a Ph.D. in Government from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from Colgate University.

My academic research considers methodological issues in social media research; the validity of crowdsourcing for content analysis; the strategic use of political advertising; and other topics. I apply natural language processing, measurement models, and experimental designs in my work.
