Biography
Alfred Miller (PhD-BA, e-Commerce), Business Faculty at Fujairah Women’s College, Higher Colleges of Technology. Alfred is fulfilling three research awards from the Wharton Business school including a residency (Ian MacMillan Global Faculty Development Program) at the University of Pennsylvania in 2011. Teaching strategy centers toward student ownership of innovative entrepreneurial projects, and developing entrepreneurial skills transferrable to the real world. Review assignments include an NSF grant in cyber behavior, and NETs 2012 (Bangkok) where Alfred presented. Research has resulted in peer-reviewed publications—most recent being the Computer Technology and Application, and includes presentations in Europe, Asia, Middle East, and USA on e-learning technology; and cyber security—specifically cybercrime, and the behavioral aspects of network security technology adoption, for the UAE and MENA Region. Latest interest is gender and sustainability. Dr. Miller is Managing Director of Charlie Drillco Ltd. (Thai). Prior industry experience includes NGWA recognition for leadership as VP-Operations and leveraged-buyout partner—St. Charles Drilling, lifetime member of the Teamsters (logistics), and assignment to liquid plants on Kwajalein Island, for the Ronald Reagan Missile Defense Project. Military service during the Cold War included an East German Border mission.
