Biography

Alison has worked in a broad range of environments, from Big Four public accounting firms to corporate, higher education and, most recently, state government. In this regard, her experience covers an eclectic array of topics. Alison currently works for the State of Delaware Department of State. She is the inaugural Unclaimed Property VDA Administrator for the voluntary compliance program, which commenced in 2012 and is managed by the Department of State. Prior to this, Alison was full-time accounting faculty at New York City College of Technology CUNY and Fordham University. While teaching, Alison had a consulting practice where she assisted clients with unclaimed property, accounting and tax related matters. In Delaware, she has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Delaware State University. Prior to teaching, Alison spent close to 16 years working at various Big Four accounting firms. Alison was a Managing Director in the State and Local Tax practice of a Big Four accounting firm where she managed the Northeast region’s unclaimed property practice and unclaimed property compliance center. Alison has a strong tax, accounting and auditing background, and she has worked on many types of engagements during her time working in several Big Four accounting firms.
