Biography

Amy Lewis, Ed.D., is an associate professor of humanities for INTO George Mason University and affiliate faculty for the Higher Education Program in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her specialties include international education, intercultural learning, and East Asia-U.S. relations. She is currently on a teaching assignment at Mason Korea.

With nearly two decades of experience in the public higher education and government sectors, Dr. Lewis has worked in the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong. She was the recipient of a Fulbright award to Taiwan. Amy believes that interdisciplinary collaborations within the university community and engaging with the world contribute not only to intellectual capacity but to relationships with one another and the betterment of society.

Dr. Lewis is an active leader in education professional associations including serving on boards for NAFSA’s Embassy Dialogue Committee on Education (EDC); Society of Intercultural Education, Training, and Research in the U.S. (SIETAR-USA); and the Fulbright Association National Capital Area Chapter.
