Dr. Anam Tariq is a Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. Tariq is dual board-certified in Internal Medicine and Adult Nephrology. She graduated from the University of Maryland with BS in Physiology and Neurobiology, obtained her medical degree from the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and subsequently completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Pinnacle, and a fellowship in Adult Nephrology and Transplantation at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She also has a Master's in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She currently works as a Physician Primary Reviewer in the Office of New Drugs at the US Food and Drug Administration. During her clinical training at Hopkins, Anam was involved in several research projects and clinical trials, including but not limited to: metabolomics, prevention of chronic kidney disease, improving nutrition, optimizing care in non-communicable diseases (i.e. hypertension and diabetes) in socio-economically disadvantaged populations, and improving quality of life in End-Stage Kidney Disease populations. She is a recipient of multiple honors and awards for her academic achievements and research.

Dr. Tariq's interests are in managing acute kidney disease, preventive care, diabetic kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, lupus nephritis and other glomerulonephritis, HIV kidney disease and other infectious related kidney diseases, hypertensive kidney disease, and oncorelated kidney diseases.
