Biography

Andreas Deppeler is an Adjunct Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Centre on AI Technology for Humankind at NUS Business School. He teaches courses on emerging technologies, data value and digital strategy. His research focuses on artificial intelligence at the intersection of computer science, philosophy and organizational psychology. He joined NUS Business School from PwC where he was Director of Data and Analytics. Before moving to Singapore in 2016, he worked in strategy consulting, banking and risk management in Europe and the United States.

He obtained a M.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from ETH Zurich in 1998 and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from Rutgers University in 2002. As a physicist, he developed mathematical and computational models for studying properties of strongly correlated electrons and electron-phonon interactions in condensed matter.
