The London School of Economics and Political Science
Andrés Irarrázaval (Santiago, 1995) has been trained as an economist at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Chile (FEN) and at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he obtained a Master's degree in Economic History. For 2 years he worked in the elaboration and implementation of public policies in the Structural Policy Analysis Unit, in the Department of Economics of the OECD.
He currently works as a visiting researcher at the Department of Economics at the University of Chile, a researcher sponsored by COES in the line of "The Socioeconomic Dimensions of Conflict", and a research collaborator at the Department of Economic History at LSE. His lines of research cover the following: long-term economic development, the economy, inequality (including redistribution, politics and fiscal capacity) and its historical, socioeconomic and institutional determinants.
Currently, Andrés I. is writing a book on the Economic History of Chile. This book, from a comparative and empirical perspective, will offer a long-term view of the dynamics of development and inequality in Chile.
