Andrew Boyarsky is a Clinical Associate Professor and Academic Director for Risk, Operations, and Emergency Management at the Katz School at Yeshiva university where he employs his years of experience in emergency preparedness, disaster response, and project management. Previously, Prof. Boyarsky served as the Program Director for Emergency Management Programs at CUNY, where he led large-scale, multi-agency training programs for a range of City agency clients: NYC Office of Emergency Management, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and Human Resources Administration. Among these programs, the Coastal Storm Plan Training project was focused on preparing 69,000 assigned storm staff for work in the emergency sheltering system, post disaster recovery, logistics operations, and mass casualty plans. Prof. Boyarsky was actively involved in the preparations for and response to Hurricanes Irene and Sandy (2011, 2012), leading major efforts, both Citywide and regionally, in developing vital support and management systems for emergency deployment, management, and reporting. He is also on the faculty at several colleges of the City University of New York.
