Biography
Worked as a business economist since the mid-1980s, and additionally on environmental issues since the late-1990s. Formerly Director of Economic Affairs at the CBI, Director of the Centre of Economic Forecasting at London Business School, and Chief Economist and Head of Environmental Affairs at British Airways. A key participant in international discussions on limiting the contribution of aviation to climate change from 1998 to 2006. Joined Warwick University in 2006 as a part-time Professorial Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation, moving to WBS in 2008. Former member of Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee since 2006 (see the Bank of England website for more information and latest speeches). Also, Member of Commission for Integrated Transport and Visiting Professor at Royal Holloway, University of London. Appointed as PricewaterhouseCooper''s Senior Economic Adviser with effect from 7 November 2011.

Policy responses to climate change and their impact on the economy and society. Climate change impact of energy and transport industries. Environmental and economic performance of the global aviation industry. UK and international macroeconomic policy issues.
