Biography

Stockholm School of Economics

Ann-Kristin joined the Stockholm School of Economics in April 2021. Her research covers the strategic management field broadly with a special emphasis on adaptive strategy creation and implementation, strategic change, sensemaking, and paradox dynamics. While she has examined how these topic areas play out in multiple industries, most of her work has focused on technology firms operating in high-velocity environments.

In her current research, Ann-Kristin examines how top management teams’ social constructions of strategy evolve and how key strategic assumptions change over time. She is also interested in how artificial intelligence (AI) and digital platforms can be used to enhance strategy creation and implementation processes and how platform companies’ strategies evolve over time.

At the Stockholm School of Economics, Ann-Kristin is the course director of the “Advanced Strategic Management” course in the Master Program in Business & Management and the “Strategy Creation and Implementation” elective in the Bachelor program in Business and Economics. In addition, she teaches in the “Essentials of Strategy” course that is part of the core curriculum in the Bachelor program. She also manages the Platform Seminar Series at the Department of Marketing and Strategy.

Before joining the Stockholm School of Economics, Ann-Kristin received her PhD from University of St.Gallen and was awarded a three-year postdoctoral fellowship. Ann-Kristin has also served as the Assistant Managing Editor of Long Range Planning, the oldest and one of the highest ranked journals on strategic management.
