Anne Weisberg

Anne Weisberg designs strategies that foster high performing, inclusive workplaces that deliver on the “S” in ESG.

Anne’s private sector experience has focused on talent strategies with a gender lens. Most recently, Anne was the Women’s Initiative Director at the law firm Paul, Weiss, where she delivered a 40% increase in the number of women associates and created a Women’s Network that has 90% participation. At BlackRock, Anne created an award-winning women’s leadership program that is the subject of a Harvard Business School case study. She joined BlackRock from Deloitte, where she co-authored Mass Career Customization: Aligning the Workplace to Today’s Nontraditional Workforce (Harvard Business Press, 2007) that coined the phrase “corporate lattice.” Anne also managed the Deloitte Women’s Initiative, helping to close the gender gap in turnover and advance women into leadership.

Anne is a recognized thought leader on inclusive workplaces. She was asked to write the New York Times op-ed titled “What Flying Nannies Won’t Fix” about workplace culture and was one of five leaders invited to dine at the Pentagon with the Secretary of Defense to advise him on the Force of the Future Initiative in 2015. As a young mother, Anne co-authored What Every Working Mother Needs to Know (Doubleday, 1994).

Anne’s non-profit sector experience has focused on research on inclusive workplaces. She was Senior Vice President at the Families and Work Institute, where she conceived and directed three reports: Family Matters: The Business Case for Investing in the Transition to Parenthood; Modern Families: Same-sex and Opposite-sex Couples Negotiating at Home; and Leadership in Today’s Economy: The View of Pipeline Leaders. At Catalyst, the preeminent non-profit working to advance women in business, Anne directed Women in Law: Making the Case, and advised law firms and other clients on gender strategies.

A lifelong climate activist, Anne is currently the Senior Adviser-in-Residence to Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE). She is also an adjunct professor of management at the NYU-Stern School of Business, where she teaches a course on inclusive leadership to both MBA and Executive Education students. She began her career at a VISTA volunteer with the New Mexico Solar Energy Association in the late 1970s and practiced environmental law at Berle, Kass & Case before pivoting her career to focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.

Anne is on the Board of A Better Balance, the work and family legal center fighting for the rights of working parents, and co-leads the Climate Action Committee at her synagogue. She and her husband split their time between New York and Connecticut and have five children between them.
