Arun Singh is an international lawyer and consultant to an international law firm. He was formerly a partner and Head of International Commercial Law at KPMG Legal globally. He is cited and ranked in Chambers Guide of the World’s Leading Lawyers. He specialises in international investment, joint ventures, licensing of technology, R&D, M&A, energy, outsourcing and corporate governance globally. He has worked with clients such as Standard Chartered, Bank of China, KPMG, Motorola and more.He is a Visiting Professor in International Business, Leadership and Negotiations at Salford University Business School, Senior Associate of Oxford University’s Institute of Legal Practice, a Visiting Lecturer to Cambridge University and a Visiting Fellow to Leeds University Business School where he focuses on leadership, cross-cultural dynamics in international business and international trade and investment.He is the non-executive director of an international investment fund listed on the London Stock Exchange and Chairs another international investment company where he approves and selects investments, their acquisitions, sales and their structures.He was appointed an OBE by HM the Queen in January 1999 for services to international trade, investment and intercultural management.Arun is an editor and contributor to a number of publications, in April 2010 his book on Business and Contract Law was published by Thorogood.

Arun is a corporate educator and international lawyer in private practice. As a facilitator, coach and consultant he focuses on Intercultural Management and Communication, International Leadership, Impact and Influence, Intercultural Negotiations, Cultural Due Diligence, and Country-Specific Advice (among others Indian culture). He has carried out post graduate studies and research at the University of Cambridge into intercultural teams, negotiation and the impact of intercultural training. He has published in the Financial Times, Indian Economic Times and Euromoney.

Arun is an accomplished and widely recognized facilitator, consultant, coach and trainer on intercultural matters since 1988 for a range of international companies. In 1999 he was appointed an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen for services to international investment and intercultural management. He is a Visiting Professor to Salford University Business School on International Leadership, Negotiations and Business. Arun also chairs an international investment company, audit committee and sits as a non executive director on the boards of two listed international investment companies.

Previously he was a partner at City of London law firms (Pinsent Masons,) and KPMG where he practiced as a lawyer, led the international commercial law group for KPMG globally, management consultant, led international teams, led the India Business Group for KPMG Europe and trainer to senior and middle management both within and outside KPMG in the arena of cross-border M&A and investment, disputes and outsourcing across the developed world and emerging markets.

He is currently a Senior Associate on Management Development at the University of Oxford’s Institute of Legal Practice, he is a Visiting Lecturer in International Negotiations, Leadership and Influencing to the University of Cambridge where works specifically with Chinese bankers from the Bank of China, Chong Qing and Bohai Banks on leadership and working across cultures. He was a Non Executive Director of UK Government’s Trade and Invest Organisation.

Since 1988 for he has worked with board members, professional service partners, senior and middle management his open or private facilitated programs in Europe, North America and Asia at ABB, ABN AMRO, ANZGrindlays Bank, BA, Bank of China, BP, BT, CapGemini, Centrica, Cisco, CNN, Danone, Daimler Chrysler, Diageo, The Economist, EDF, ENI, Emirates, Ericsson, Goldman Sachs, GSK, HSBC, IBM, ING, Infosys, KPMG, Motorola, National Geographic, Norsk Hydro, Novartis, NovoNordisk, Orange, Philips, Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum, PWC, Royal Bank of Scotland, FL Schmidt, Saint-Gobain, Shell, Siemens, Standard Chartered Bank, Syngenta, UBS, Unilever, Virgin and Volvo.

For Trompenaars Hampden-Turner he has often been asked as an expert on Indian culture to conduct workshops on Intercultural Management with special focus on working with people from India (e.g. Philips and RBS).
