Biography

Following a BSc and MSc in Mechanical engineering, I received a PhD and DIC in the field of computational solid mechanics at Imperial College, London.  I am a fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.  I have been the lead lecturer and sole developer of syllabi and course materials of both undergraduate and postgraduate lecture-based structures modules at the University of Manchester.  My research is focused in the field of computational solid mechanics in relation to design sensitivity analysis, shape and topology optimisation, fracture mechanics, fatigue analysis and mechanics of composites.  I am the sole author of 17 of my journal publications and 2 book chapters.
