Biography

Georgia Tech Professional Education

Barbara Fox (CISSP) is a Research Scientist in the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Cyber Technology and Information Security Laboratory (CTISL). Her research focuses on risk management, emerging threats, malware analysis, and insider threat. Ms. Fox combines a rich background in instructional design with information security expertise in the development of cybersecurity course material for professional education. She also conducts classroom instruction for both public and private sector organizations, including Fortune 100 companies and the DoD.

Ms. Fox's previous work experience includes support and systems engineering for Hewlett Packard, Data General, and her own consulting business. In addition to more than a dozen years teaching professional education, she has also taught numerous online and traditional computer science courses for middle school, high school, and university students. She has mentored an award-winning robotics team, instructed workshops, spoken at conferences, and served on the board of the Georgia chapter of the Computer Science Teachers Association.

Ms. Fox holds a B.S. in Electronics/Computer Systems, an M.S. in Applied Computer Science/Information Assurance and a post-masters Educational Specialist degree in Education Leadership/Instructional Technology.
