Benjamin MORISSE is active in Higher Education in Business since 1998, after some years spent in the corporate world.

He holds a PhD in Business Science as an ‘Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches’ (HDR, Higher Doctorate qualifying for PhD supervision). His field of expertise lies in franchising management and more specifically, the implementation of brand standards at the point of sale.

He explored this topic in the car sector and published several related pieces of research. Cars dealerships in Europe are mostly family-owned businesses. This led Benjamin to develop a research interest in family-owned businesses, for their management and corporate social responsibility approaches are concerned.

As a co-author with Catherine Leblanc, he published cases studies and a textbook dedicated to family businesses. They were awarded a prize for one of their case studies (Ariane Fnege, in 2014) and their book was labeled by the peer-committee of experts of the French Foundation for Management Education (FNEGE). Benjamin also published dissemination papers for the Corporate World in the area of Management.

At ESSCA, Benjamin Morisse started as a lecturer in Executive Education Programs in 2002 by developing an online course in Service Marketing. He joined permanent faculty in 2004 and was then chair of automotive retailing programs.

Appointed Associate Dean for Faculty in 2008, he was entrusted with faculty management and programs development. Since 2011, he acts as vice-dean. His current main assignments are to coordinate the whole programs range, career services and students placement, programs development and processes, executive education and, represents ESSCA in several national and international bodies related to Higher Education.

Benjamin Morisse is also visiting faculty at the faculty of Economics and Business of the Catholic University of Ingolstadt Eischtätt, since 2006.

In terms of community service, Benjamin MORISSE holds several mandates, as an expert in the Accreditation Body of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles, as a member of the Board of Administration of the NOVACHILD cluster, as a member of the Executive Committee of the CIDEGEF (Union of Institutions in Higher Education in Business of French Expression), as a member of the Reading Committee of the peer-reviewed journal ‘Management et Avenir’ and, as a member of the ADETEM (French union of Marketing Experts).
