Babson Olin Graduate School of Business
Emre Guzelsu is currently a 6th Year Operations Management PhD student at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. His current research interest sits at the Operations/Entrepreneurship interface, with a keen focus on the understanding the different stages that new ventures go through as they become establish companies. His current studies pertain to questions related to the survival & growth of new ventures, The Lean Startup, validated learning, the development of a viable business plan, and understanding how co-creation can facilitate new product development. He specializes in the tabletop gaming industry as an industrial context, due to its unique facets for studying these questions, as well as being a lead card game developer for a company he helped found, Pine Box Entertainment.
Before starting his graduate education, he worked four years in municipal finance at Public Financial Management. He specialized in quantitative analysis and atypical bond financings for clients like the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Nassau County (NY), and the Philadelphia School District. He holds a Bachelor's from Franklin & Marshall College in Business & Economics, and a Masters of Engineering from Boston University's School of Engineering in Systems Engineering.
