Biography

Bonnie Richley has a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and an MSODA from Case Western Reserve University and a BA in English from Baldwin Wallace University. Dr. Richley developed the concept of Social Business Innovations (SBIs) to help organizations rejuvenate communities in which they are embedded. She has also been actively involved in gender research and practice; positive organization development with expertise in Appreciative Inquiry; executive coaching as a trainer and master coach; and adult learning theories and competency development. Dr. Richley is a Research Fellow at Rutgers University from 2010 and was Visiting Professor at ESADE Business School Barcelona, Spain from 2004-2006.
Dr. Richley’s certifications include Executive Coaching (Hay Group), Coaching by Values (ICF accredited), and Workplace Mediator including train-the-trainer. She has created and conducted both basic and advanced coaching training and certification programs at ESADE Business School. She has participated in panels and keynote engagements to generate dialogue about important issues in the workplace. Dr. Richley has been an invited guest speaker on issues to include Appreciative Inquiry, sustainability, leadership, change, adult learning theories, organizational learning, competency development, and both individual and team coaching.
From 1987 through 2003 Dr. Richley worked for a variety of organizations in a management capacity including the international healthcare market. She spearheaded and directed the Center for International Relations at a major university hospital and was responsible for generating revenue of approximately $2.5 million. She has also been involved in the strategic planning and program development for the office of Urban Health at the School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Richley’s work experience includes serving as the Executive Director for the Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit, Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University. As an organizational development consultant, she works with organizations in the for-profit and the not-for profit sectors in the U.S. and across the globe. Her consulting practice and work experience has focused on executive coaching, leadership training, strategic planning, program development, organizational change, Appreciative Inquiry and team coaching and development. Clients include: Cleveland Schools that Can (C-STC), TUI Tourism International, Jesuit Refugee Services, The American Red Cross, University Hospitals of Cleveland, KALEIDOSCOPE Magazine, Case Western Reserve University, the Wilson Planning Cooperative, and MHA Nation Tomorrow in North Dakota. She is a partner and co-founder of Interaction Science, LLC.
Dr. Richley has published scholarly and practitioner articles on Social Business Innovation, organizational change, sustainability, team learning and development, managing by values, gender studies and also presented her work nationally and internationally. Her work includes numerous book chapters, a co-authored book on Managing by Values and recently a book on High-Impact Engagement: A two-phase approach for individual and team development.
