Biography

Brian Chen joined SCE in 2011 and currently manages a group responsible for the development and implementation of a quantitative risk-based methodology for prioritizing nearly $3 billion of capital and $600 million of annual operations and maintenance spending within the transmission and distribution operating unit. Prior to his current role, Chen served on a team that provided direction for executives on renewable energy, distributed generation, regulatory policies and other strategic issues pertaining to the electric industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his MBA from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.
