Bruce Garrod

Bruce has 30 years of management leadership experience including over 20 in Project and Program Management and is a PMI certified PMP. Bruce has proven project delivery success in the information technology, outsourcing, and marketing environments. • He has lead direct-report teams in excess of fifty management and non-management resources, and project teams involving C-level executives, contractors, vendors, and tactical delivery-level team members. His flexibility to customize his management style to all organizational levels is one of his greatest strengths. • For 12 year, Bruce has facilitated more than 15 project management training courses. He also develops and delivers his own Project Management workshops. Positive feedback has been received from over 8000 participants throughout Canada and in the United States and England. • Bruce is the President of Solutions Management Inc.; the project management consulting company he established in 1999. * Elected as a Ward Councillor in 2018, Bruce is also the Chair of Finance for the Township of Uxbridge, Ontario. • Bruce continues to bring his candid Project Management style to both small and multi-million dollar programs and to the classroom. He prides himself in bringing a best-practices approach to opportunities when formality is necessary or adjusting to a flexible model where business requirements demand it.

Through 20 years at Bell Canada, Bruce grew through a series of positions ranging from technical roles to managing teams of up to 50 management and non-management team members. The combination of team management and project leadership lead to establishing his own Project Management consulting firm in 1999. Since then Bruce has lead projects ranging from $50million due diligence in-sourcing deals between Bell Connexim and Capgemini to corporate bebranding of CIBC and Vale Inco and wireless network implementations for Ericsson – Rogers. Bruce leverages these experiences while in the classroom delivering courses ranging from introductory Project Management, to Risk Management to PMP exam preparation. The lessons learned through 30 years of experience brings the ‘real world’ to the classroom for the various levels of courses, including University curriculum with McMaster University, Global Knowledge. Bruce has now brought 30+ private sector experience to the his role as a local elected Councillor and Finance Chair. Knowledge and Expertise Bruce’s primary focus for the last 15 years has been in Project and Program Management. The skills developed as a Senior Project Manager and Project Management Office leader in the corporate world made for a smooth transition to independent consulting. The knowledge gained when managing both direct-report teams while at Bell Canada and matrix teams as a consultant, has ensured Bruce maintains his ability to lead and manage all styles of teams.
