Personal profile
Research interests
I completed my PhD at Aston Business School and since then have worked at Aston University and the University of Bath. Prior to joining academia, I was an entrepreneur who started and managed a company for three years. I then decided to close the business to embrace my PhD, however the passion for entrepreneurial ideas is still with me and I thoroughly enjoy engaging with students, executives and organisations about entrepreneurial ventures. I have also worked for the public, the private and the social sector at different points in time.
I am very passionate about creating the best teaching and learning experiences for students and executives. I was awarded the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence at the University of Bath and obtained multiple teaching excellence nominations at Aston University. I am continuously improving my teaching methods and always try to adopt the latest technologies and teaching methods to promote outstanding learning experiences. I truly believe that learning can be more effective if it is fun and based on action-based activities. I teach at an international level and work closely with executives and organisations to promote learning and management development.
In terms of teaching and executive development, my topics of expertise are strategy and entrepreneurship. In particular, I like to deliver sessions on developing an entrepreneurial mindset, business model innovation, design thinking and strategic foresight.
I am interested in research on entrepreneurial mindsets and how entrepreneurship education can be more effective and can truly help people to start and grow new businesses. I am passionate about the impact that technology can have on improving the learning experience inside and outside the classroom.
