Cafer Caliskan

Dr. Çalışkan received his bachelor's and master's degrees in integrated BS and MS program in mathematics education from Boğaziçi University (Istanbul). After his graduation in 2003, he began his graduate studies at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, Florida) and received both his master's (2005) and PhD degrees (2010) in mathematics. In addition to his teaching assistantship (2003 - 2010), he obtained the Daniel B. Newell and Aurel B. Newell Doctoral Fellowship (2007 - 2008). He is a former member of the center for cryptology and information security at Florida Atlantic University. He worked as a system engineering intern at Siemens Communications (Boca Raton, Florida) in summer 2007.

His research interests are in information security, intelligent systems, and combinatorics (finite geometries, graph theory).

He worked as a faculty member (Visiting assistant professor) at Michigan Technological University (Houghton, Michigan) (2010 - 2012). He then joined the research group on cryptology and coding theory as a research fellow at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). After he moved back to Turkey, he worked as a faculty member at the computer engineering department at Kadir Has University (2013 - 2017). He is currently working as the head of the computer engineering department at Antalya Bilim University (Antalya, Turkey).
