Carmelo Fontana

I am a tech-law attorney qualified in California and in Italy. My professional practice focuses on IP law, privacy law, content licensing, social media, advertising and commercial deals. I have significant business experience in new ventures financing, consumer Internet, on-line marketing and advertising. I graduated summa cum laude from LUISS Law School. After practicing several years with Cleary Gottlieb (Rome Office), I joined the European Commission Legal Service. Next, as a Fulbright Scholar, I graduated from Stanford Law School with an LL.M. in Law Science and Technology. Thereafter, I co-founded an Internet start-up company operating in US and Asia. Then, on a Rotary Ambassador Scholarship, I worked as a Research Associate with the Stanford Transatlantic Technology Law Forum ("TTLF"). I was confirmed as a Research Fellow with the TTLF. In January 2011, I joined Google where as Senior Regional Counsel I currently handle the Italian commercial and regulatory practice.
