Chiara joined King’s College London as Lecturer in HRM and ESRC Future Research Leader fellow (2016-2018) in October 2016. Previous to her appointment at King’s, she was Lecturer in HRM at Royal Holloway, University of London and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max-Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne. She held visiting positions at the Free University in Berlin, at the University of Milan and at the Institute for Economic and Social Research in Bologna.
Chiara’s research is in the area of comparative human resource management and comparative employment relations. In particular, she investigates how national and local institutions as well as political and economic contingencies affect companies’ human resource strategies in the areas of internal and external flexibility, training and knowledge management. Her work has been published in international academic journals such as the British Journal of Industrial Relations, Socio-Economic Review and Industrial and Labor Relations Review.
Her research has been funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and by the Hans Boeckler Foundation.
Chiara is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Research Interests
Political economy, comparative HRM, comparative employment relations, flexibility, training, collective bargaining, knowledge management.
