Biography
Chris Burke is a Program Manager at Dell where he leads global cross-functional and cross-organizational teams for supply chain enablement projects. He also serves in the leadership role for the supply chain’s Program Management Office (PMO) establishing standard processes and procedures for managing projects across their life cycle milestones. Chris joined Dell after retiring as a Colonel from the United States Air Force. His last position was Director of Logistics, Installations, and Mission Support for the Eighth Air Force. He served at the Pentagon as Senior Military Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Environment, and Logistics and as Chief of the Policy Team for the Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff of the Air Force executive action group. Chris deployed to the Balkans for Operation JOINT GUARD, the Indian Ocean for Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and Iraq for both Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and NEW DAWN. Chris’ teaching experience includes Assistant Professor of Logistics Management for the Graduate School of Logistics and Acquisition Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology and invited Lecturer to both the Brazilian Air Force Institute of Logistics at Sao Paulo and the Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy of Logistics at Stavern. Chris was a National Security Fellow in the JFK School of Government at Harvard University and earned his PhD in Production and Operations Management from the Kelley school of Business at Indiana University. He holds Masters degrees in Acquisition Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Human Resources Management from Central Michigan University, and Military Operational Art and Science from Air Command and Staff College. His Bachelor degree is in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and a Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) from SOLE – The International Society of Logistics.
