Christel Berghäll Högström

Christel Berghäll-Högström is a Senior Fellow, Human Capital at The Conference Board. In this role, Christel supports the Human Capital Practice which includes The Conference Board Human Capital Exchange™, research, conferences, webcasts and programs in a broad spectrum of human capital areas. In addition to serving as a Senior Fellow, Christel is a Council Director for The Conference Board Strategic Workforce Planning Council. Christel is the Founder and Managing Director of Step Beyond Ltd, where she focuses on executive coaching, team coaching, mentor coaching for HR leaders as well as consulting services in Organizational Leadership & Talent Management.

The scope of Christel’s work has been international throughout her career and she has worked and lived in Finland, Germany and China. She is based in Helsinki, Finland and travels frequently for her work. She is fluent in English, Swedish and Finnish and she converses in French.

Christel is passionate about in helping executives, teams and organizations become more effective through leadership excellence and strategic human resource management. She has worked in various international human resources positions at Nokia Corporation and as a human resources senior executive at Amer Sports Corporation and YIT Corporation. She has a good sense of the world and the mind of an executive in today’s business having worked as a management team member herself. She has extensive experience in setting up Human Resources functions, leading HR transformations programs, designing and carrying out global talent management initiatives, executive development & coaching solutions and organizational development interventions aimed at implementing the business strategy.

Christel holds a Master’s degree in economics (M.Sc. econ.) in international economics. She has completed her Diploma in Advanced Executive Coaching at the Academy of Executive Coaching in London, UK and she is a PCC certified coach (Professional Certified Coach) by the International Coach Federation (ICF). Christel is currently pursuing her diploma in Gestalt coaching in London, UK. Christel is a Board member and President of ICF Finland.
