Christian Hurley

Term Adjunct Professor

Biography

-

I was responsible for designing, managing, instructing, and evaluating the academic program for both the Queen's Business Law Clinic and the Queen's Elder Law Clinic. I advised the Dean and other senior staff on governance issues relating to Queen's Law Clinics. I supervised and counselled law students by reviewing file work, providing feedback, guiding legal research, and scrutinizing legal writing and professional correspondence.

I monitored client and file management techniques, ensuring adherence to deadlines and undertakings, and assisted in preparation for appearances before courts and tribunals. I also worked to promote the clinics to students and potential clients through presentations to various organizations and by managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Finally, I oversaw operational and administrative matters, ensuring compliance with guidelines, policies, and procedures mandated by the Law Society of Upper Canada and Queen's University.
