Christian Thoroughgood

Christian Thoroughgood, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. He previously was an Assistant Professor at Villanova University and Northeastern University. Dr. Thoroughgood’s research interests focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, leadership, positive organizational behavior, and workplace mistreatment. His research has been published in various outlets, including, among others, the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, The Leadership Quarterly, and the Journal of Business Ethics, as well as featured in various media outlets, including the Harvard Business Review, The Washington Post, The Conversation, and The Atlantic. Recent recognition for his work includes being named a winner of the Responsible Research in Management Award (2021) by the Academy of Management Fellows Group and the Community for Responsible Research in Business and Management (RRBM), a runner-up for the Saroj Parasuraman Award for best peer-reviewed paper in the field of gender and diversity by the GDO Division of the Academy of Management, and a finalist for the Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellence in Work-Family Research. Further, a recent article of his on “Creating a Trans-Inclusive Workplace,” was selected by the Harvard Business Review for HBR’s 10 Must Reads 2021: The Definitive Management Ideas of the Year. Dr. Thoroughgood currently serves on the editorial boards for the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Business and Psychology, and Group and Organization Management.
