Bentley University
Christine Liu is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Bentley University. Her research has a broad focus, including Financial Accounting, Machine Learning, and Big Data, with a specific interest in analyzing unstructured textual data and big data related to corporate insolvency and restructuring. Additionally, she teaches Financial Accounting at Bentley University.
Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., she spent three years working at the IMF in Washington D.C., gaining valuable experience from engaging in numerous policy-related tasks that have significantly influenced her current research direction. Her dedication extends to helping students excel both academically and professionally through her teaching.
Looking ahead, she aspires to delve into financial accounting issues and assess their economic implications using cutting-edge AI algorithms that leverage structured and unstructured data.
She holds a B.A. from New York University and earned an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto.
Beyond her academic pursuits, she is also a classically trained pianist, despite not possessing perfect pitch. She has showcased her talents at various notable venues, including Disney World in Florida, the Thanksgiving Parade in New York, and the Cherry Blossom Festival in D.C.
