Christopher W. Craighead is the Dove Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Haslam College of Business, University of Tennessee.  His primary research interests lie in the area of strategic sourcing and supply management, with a focus on global supply chain disruptions/risk and resilience.  Professor Craighead has articles published in Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Supply Chain Management and other journals_. _

He has been the recipient of several research fellowships, competitive research grants, and research awards.  For example, his paper “The Severity of Supply Chain Disruptions: Design Characteristics and Mitigation Capabilities” was selected as one of the top 50 articles with proven impact since its publication date and was the recipient of an Emerald Management Reviews Citations of Excellence Award.  This paper was selected from approximately 15,000 articles in the top 300 business, management, and economics journals worldwide. 

Professor Craighead has extensive teaching experience in terms of audiences and course content.  He currently teaches strategic sourcing and procurement within the undergraduate program and scheduled to teach in the PhD program.  Professor Craighead has served as dissertation chair for six students across three universities.  He has been the recipient of awards for teaching excellence at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Professor Craighead has been a frequent speaker to managerial audiences and has participated in a number of executive programs (open enrollment and custom).

Professor Craighead serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Supply Chain Management and Journal of Business Logistics and also serves on the Editorial Review Boards of Production and Operations Management and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management He has been the recipient of multiple awards for reviewing and editing excellence including Best Associate Editor Awards at Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management and Decision Sciences.
