Crystal Coleman is an audit partner with GALLINA LLP, a regional accounting firm with offices throughout Northern California, Nevada and Washington.  For about 14 years, Coleman was a part-time lecturer in the CSU Sacramento College of Business, where she taught both undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, prior to her involvement with the UC Davis Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAc) program. Coleman continues to serve on the College of Business Advisory Council, Sacramento Construction Management Education Foundation and as a board member of University Enterprises Inc., a for-profit auxiliary organization at CSU Sacramento.  Coleman’s professional experience includes a blend of private industry and public accounting. She worked in the banking industry out of college, has experience as an operations manager and as a controller for a privately held sales and distribution company. She entered the public accounting profession in 2001 working in both the tax and audit disciplines and was admitted as a partner of GALLINA LLP in January 2008. Coleman also serves as the audit committee chair for Five Star Bank, a community bank with assets in excess of $500 million, where she was appointed as a director in 2013.  Coleman is a licensed CPA and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants and is the only CPA within the state of California who is both a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary. Coleman leads GALLINA LLP’s employee benefit plan audit practice, which she has built from the ground up and currently audits approximately 100 employee benefit plans annually. Coleman is a frequent speaker at the AICPA National Conference on Employee Benefit Plans, the Western Pension & Benefits Conference and the ISCEBS Symposium and co-author of Risk Based Audits of Employee Benefit Plans, a nationally distributed technical audit guide publication for the accounting profession. Coleman’s personal interests include reading, continuous learning and travel with her husband of 17 years—they have visited all seven continents and more 40 foreign countries.  Coleman earned her MBA and M.S. in accountancy from California State University, Sacramento. She earned her B.A. from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
