Harvard Medical School

Dr. Cindy Telingator is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist in private practice in Cambridge, MA. She offers consultation, supervision, and psychotherapy to individuals, families, schools, therapists and businesses. She completed her adult psychiatry training and her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School.

Her academic work for the past 20 years has focused on gender and sexuality, and the integration of these aspects of one's identity across the lifespan. She has been involved in clinical work, training and education, writing, speaking, and consulting during her career. Her systems work is focused on building communication skills to address diversity including gender and sexuality. In addition, she continues to devote a significant portion of her time to her private practice, which includes a general psychotherapy practice for children, adolescents, adults and families.

She has worked with the middle school director at BBN to help to facilitate conversations between middle school children and their parents around the topics of sexuality and gender. She has also presented to middle school parents at the Park School, and for the Cambridge Public Schools. She works with teachers, students and parents on the development of healthy self esteem and communication skills. She also works with businesses to address issues of diversity and intersectionality with the goal of improving work environments by addressing internal biases.

Dr. Telingator is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, and continues to teach and supervise at Cambridge Health Alliance.
