Biography
The College of Business and Economics at Lehigh University
Dale has served on Lehigh’s MBA and undergraduate faculty for over three decades. He has also lectured in both the MBA and Executive MBA programs at The Wharton School in Philadelphia and Wharton San Francisco. An alumnus of Lehigh’s College of Business and Economics, Dale completed coursework and examinations for the Ph.D. [corporate finance concentration] before embarking on a career in industry and the professions that spanned decades.
Dale created VentureSeries [award-winning entrepreneurship track in the Lehigh MBA program that dissects and analyzes the murky world of the startup]. His campus signature now includes LehighSiliconValley, LehighBostonStartup, and LehighNYStartup [exciting immersion programs that take students from all campus walks to innovation and technology hubs for a close-up look at vibrant ecosystems giving life to early stage companies].
For many years, Dale has advised hundreds of CEOs and founders of startups and emerging growth enterprises. He has served on over two dozen boards of public and privately-held firms, and frequently performed as chairman or lead director. Dale’s recent experience as an investment banker focuses on capital raises and exits for rapid expansion and established middle market client companies. Dale is often invited to speak at industry and professional conferences, as well as having made guest appearances on A&E and PBS television documentaries. His present role as Chairman, Advisory Council, Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation provides fertile ground to advance the cause of new business formation – not only on the Lehigh campus, but throughout the greater region to help promote economic development and job growth.
Dale has received numerous awards and recognition from various industry, professional, governmental, and non-profit organizations over the years. But he cherishes his Lehigh MBA Teaching Excellence awards and The Farrington Award for Outstanding Commitment to Entrepreneurship at Lehigh as his happiest moments!
