Dan Riskin

Dan Riskin is the Chief Executive Officer of Vanguard Medical Technologies and previously held positions as founder and CEO of Health Fidelity, entrepreneur in residence at Mohr Davidow Ventures, and Chief Strategy Officer at CalHIPSO (the largest US regional extension center). Dan has developed and commercialized products in clinical analytics, healthcare services, and medical devices. As consulting faculty at Stanford University, he also continues to practice clinical medicine, train young physicians, and publish on disruptive technology.
Dan products have influenced the care of tens of thousands of patients through deployment at leading health systems. He has spoken on medical technology creation and venture development at the NIH, NSF, NASA, and DARPA. His contributions in data-driven healthcare have been featured in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and other leading media. In 2005, Dan was named one of the top 35 innovators under 35 by Technology Review and won the AMA Leadership Award. He subsequently served on the 2008 Obama Campaign Healthcare Advisory Committee. He has testified before congress on medical technology innovation and serves through the Bipartisan Policy Center and the eHealth Initiative Leadership Council.
Dan medical credentials include a MD from Boston University, residency in surgery at UCLA, and fellowship in critical care and acute care surgery at Stanford University. He is board certified in four specialties, including surgery, critical care, palliative care, and clinical informatics. His business training includes a MBA with a focus in bioinformatics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Stanford Biodesign Fellowship.
