Biography

Daniel Beimborn holds the chair for business informatics, especially information system management. From 2014 to 2018 he was Professor of Business Informatics at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Together with Prof. Dr. Moormann, he heads the ProcessLab there, which deals with research topics related to process management in financial service providers.

Mr. Beimborn studied and did his doctorate at the Goethe University in Frankfurt before working as a postdoc and habilitation candidate at the Otto-Friedrich-University in Bamberg from 2007-2013. He was a visiting researcher at Microsoft in Redmond (2004), at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge (2006 and 2007), at Georgia State University in Atlanta (2010-2011) and at MIT (2018).

His current research activities include the management of outsourcing and nearshoring relationships, digital innovation & transformation, IT governance and business/IT alignment, standardization of business processes, BPO and shared services in the financial industry, and the importance of IT to support innovation processes. He has published numerous articles in relevant IS journals (MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of IT, etc.) and is Senior Editor of DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems and Associate Editor of the journal Business & Information Systems Engineering .

Prof. Beimborn teaches various modules in the context of business informatics, IT management and digital management in the bachelor's and master's programs of the WIAI faculty. He is also a tutor at the Bavarian Elite Academy .
