Danielle Ellerbe is the Academic Director of the Master of Health Administration program and an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in the Health Management and Policy Department. She is also clinical faculty in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Dr. Ellerbe graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in nursing and has a Doctor of Nursing practice degree from Johns Hopkins University. She brings experience in the health care sector from a clinical patient care and health systems perspective. Before accepting this position, she was an acute care registered nurse and a licensed family nurse practitioner caring for under resourced patient populations in Boston, MA. She has conducted research on implicit bias and implemented quality improvement projects among inter-professional health care teams to decrease negative impact of implicit bias on the Black patient population. She serves as a board member for a nonprofit medical foundation, Scalpel at The Cross, and volunteers as a medical trip leader, coordinating medical teams in collaboration with local hospitals to provide access to orthopedic trauma surgery in Peru. She inspires her students to be leaders of health systems that work to increase equity in access to health care and better health outcomes for vulnerable patient populations.
