Bio

Dave Allen has over 35 years of experience in the defense and commercial communications industries.  At Rockwell he spent 15 years as a systems engineer and managed a network modeling and analysis group.  Before joining MCI (now Verizon) in 1994, he was the technical director of the Texas office of Decision-Science Applications which developed custom decision support tools.  At Verizon he is a distinguished member of the technical staff in the corporate Business Analytics Group where he is an analyst and develops optimization models for a variety of projects.  He also holds eight patents.  Dr. Allen has been an adjunct lecturer at the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Cox School of Business since 2006.  He has also taught in the SMU graduate engineering school and in the University of Texas at Dallas business school.  He earned a BSEE, an MS in telecommunications, an MS in operations research and a Doctor of Engineering, all from SMU.
