Academic Division: EntrepreneurshipProfessor David Lopez has over 30 years of sales, sales management, and sales training experience. He teaches Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, and Investment Management courses at Babson College, Suffolk University, and Clark University. As Vice President, Global Business Development, at Scudder Kemper Investments, he helped launch a $90 million worldwide start-up by creating a successful selling process, a sales management structure, as well as a comprehensive sales training program. As Vice President, Director of Training, at Fleet Investment Management, he built and managed the investment sales training department. At BankBoston, he participated in the merger of the investment businesses of BayBanks and Bank of Boston, and was instrumental in the formation of an invesment banking business launch. He has been a guest coach and judge at Boston University''s Business Plan Boot-camp, Clark University''s Ureka Challenge, Suffolk University''s New Product Innovation Competition, as well as Harvard University''s Business Plan Competition. Professor Lopez earned a BSBA magna cum laude from Northeastern University as well as his MBA in Entrepreneurship from Suffolk University. Professor Lopez is an active member of the Massachusetts entrepreneurial ecosystem working with small companies to increase sales and review and assisting them in creating a scalable sales management structure. As a member of the Massachsuetts Small Business Advisory Council, Professor Lopez assisted in creating initiatives at the State government level that will enable small businesses to grow, expand and create jobs. He is also a Certified SCORE Mentor and president of Valentino Recording and Oldham Films, LLC. Teaching Philosophy "My objective in teaching Entrepreneurship classes is to bring real world business management experience to the classroom with the goal of preparing students for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead."
