ESADE Business School
PhD in Sociology by the University of Barcelona. BSc in Humanities by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. BSc in Business Administration by the University of Barcelona. David Murillo has worked in the financial, public and non-profit sectors. Associate Professor, he joined in 2006 the Department of Society, Politics and Sustainability of ESADE Business School, Ramon Llull University, in Barcelona. He currently conducts research at the Institute for Social Innovation of the same school in areas like globalization, social innovation, business ethics and critical management studies.
Amongst his latest works we find the book “From Walmart to Al Qaeda. An interdisciplinary approach to globalization”, published by Routledge 2017 (Axiom Business Book Award 2016: Bronze Medal Winner in the International Business/Globalization category) and the articles ‘The Business School’s Right to Operate: Responsibilization and Resistance’ in the Journal of Business Ethics (2016) and ‘When the sharing economy becomes neoliberalism on steroids: Unravelling the controversies’ published in Technological Forecasting and Social Change (2017). He has been visiting scholar in different universities like Stanford (USA), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (Germany), Universidad del Pacífico (Peru) or Sogang Business School (Korea).
