David Sloane

David Sloane is an attending in allergy and clinical immunology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), a consultant in allergy and clinical immunology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and clinical director of allergy and clinical immunology at the West Roxbury VA Hospital. He is an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS) where he is active in medical education both as a teacher and a medical education researcher.

He received his medical degree from HMS, then completed a residency in internal medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and a fellowship in allergy and immunology at BWH. For five years, he was an NIH funded researcher into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of allergic diseases. He is board certified in allergy and clinical immunology.

A specialist in allergy and clinical immunology, Dr. Sloane’s clinical interests are in asthma, anaphylaxis, and adult immunodeficiencies. As the associate director of the BWH drug desensitization program, he is an active clinical researcher into drug allergies and non-allergic hypersensitivities. His research passions include mathematical modeling of immunologic systems and the application of psychology to medical education.
