Dr. David Somers is the director of the Attention and Perception Neuroimaging Laboratory at Boston University. He is also the chair of the department of Psychological & Brain Sciences.
He studies the attention networks of the human brain and how the mechanisms of attention shape our perception and our working memory. His research has uncovered several new brain areas and a new brain network. His work is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation.
