Nyenrode Business University
Prof. Dr. Dennis Vink is Professor of Finance and Investment at Nyenrode Business Universiteit and is the Director of the Center for Finance. He teaches corporate finance and strategic financial management. Furthermore, Dennis is the author of various academic papers that focus on structured finance. Next to his work in academia, he is involved in advisory work that deals with complex issues in the field of financial management in the public and private sector.
Dennis has been given the professor of the year award twice for teaching excellence. The first award he received was in the Nyenrode Executive MBA jointly organized with Kellogg School of Management in 2009 , and the second in 2013. Furthermore, he worked with (senior) management of major corporations, such as: ANWB, ABN AMRO, BAM, Damen Shipyards, Heijmans, Eneco, Eureko/Achmea, Oranjewoud, Reed Business and ING Real Estate.
Several papers he worked on are co-authored by Frank Fabozzi on topics related to structured finance to advance the knowledge in the area of credit ratings and the use of asset-backed securities in (European) financial markets. His work is published in high quality international academic journals, such as: the European Journal of Finance, The Journal of Structured Finance, The Journal of Fixed Income, and the European Financial Management Journal. His working papers are published by the International Center for Finance at Yale School of Management, EDHEC-Risk Institute, and Vlerick Leuven Gent School of Management School. He has written opinion pieces specifically on the use of financial instruments in the Dutch market for Het Financieele Dagblad, NRC Handelsblad, de Accountant, and MeJudice.
He received a Master of Science degree in Financial Management from Nyenrode Business Universiteit (1999) where he also obtained his PhD degree (2007). Additional training was followed through the Tilburg PhD Program in Finance (2003-2005), and Cambridge Judge Business School (2013). He is a member of the American Finance Association, European Finance Association, European Financial Management Association, and Midwest Finance Association.
Secondary positions
Dennis also serves as a Visiting Professor of Finance at the Moscow State University (MSU),Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Stellenbosch Business School. Besides that, he is President at the European Financial Management Association (2015-2016), has an advisory position at Agrifirm and Rijksoverheid. Furthermore, he is a member of the Academic Board and the International Advisory Board at Nyenrode.
