Biography

Dina F. Bierman, M.D., is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon, specializing in Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery. As a native Californian, Dr. Bierman attended UCLA after graduating Valedictorian of Sunny Hills High School. As an undergraduate at UCLA she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with the highest honors of Summa Cum Laude. Both medical school and business school followed.

Coming from a family of physicians including her great-grandfather, grandfather and both her parents, she was immersed into the world of medicine at a very early age. Whether it was discussing interesting cases over dinner or following her parents in the hospital during the weekend rounds, medicine has always been part of her life. Dr. Bierman’s single greatest inspiration was her mother. She juggled being an amazing mom and outstanding physician seamlessly and with grace. Her mother taught her how to treat people with respect, love, and compassion.

Prior to private practice, Dr. Bierman held a full-time faculty position at UCLA where she enjoyed a mix of patient care, teaching and research, and was awarded the prestigious Faculty of the Year Award. She has published her research in leading medical journals, including the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.

Despite her busy schedule, Dr. Bierman remains a dedicated educator and activist. She continues to enjoy teaching UCLA residents and medical students at the Venice Family Clinic where she volunteers her time and expertise to provide medical care for underserved and uninsured individuals and families. She has spent time abroad volunteering in medical and surgical clinics in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.
