Biography

Management Development Institute (MDI)

Divya Sharma is a faculty in the area of Information Management at MDI Gurgaon. She has completed the Fellow Program in Management from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. She is the recipient of the Satish K Sehgal Doctoral Student Award (2018) for excellence in scholarship and organizational citizenship at IIM Calcutta. After completing her doctoral studies, she started her academic journey at the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak, and was thereafter employed with the OP Jindal Global University. She has also offered courses in a visiting capacity at IMI, New Delhi.

Prior to her doctoral studies, she has also worked for four years with public, as well as, private organizations. She served in the capacity of Scientific Officer at the National Informatics Centre (Govt. of India) where she was responsible for various technology and policy aspects of her project. She also worked as Computer Scientist in Belzabar Software Design India Pvt. Ltd.

Teaching

Prof. Divya has taught courses at graduate, post-graduate, executive, and doctoral levels. Her teaching expertise lies in the areas of Digital Transformation, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Visualization, Digital Business Models, Social Network Analysis, Platform Ecosystems, Business Dynamics, Social Media, and E-commerce.

Research

Prof. Divya’s research has been published in several international peer-reviewed conferences and journals, and two of her research papers have been highly commended by the 2019 Emerald Literati Awards. One of her research projects as been funded by the IIMA IDEA Telecom Centre of Excellence (IITCOE). She has also been involved in the organization of academic conferences and conclaves and has rendered academic service as a reviewer for various international journals and conferences.
