Biography

Impact Factory

Dom is a born and bred North Londoner, and possibly the only actual Crouch Ender in Crouch End.

After studying Politics in Manchester, he trained as an actor at LAMDA (the one that’s better than RADA) and worked for a few years as a TV and stage actor, as well as trying his hand at directing plays and musicals.

Alongside acting, he has worked for many years as a technical IT trainer: designing and delivering systems training for a wide range of clients. He has been training Excel and PowerPoint for over ten years to an advanced level - if you’re having problems with your Nested IFs or your VLOOKUPs won’t behave themselves then Dom’s your man.

"I love the challenge of being able to explain a complex idea as simply as possible."

This is why Impact Factory and Dom are made for each other! Impact Factory is a perfect way for him to combine/use his acting and training experience, to further explore his passion for personal development. He is a firm believer in the Impact Factory ethos of giving people space and time to explore and discover things for themselves, to make up their own minds about what works for them and also not to overcomplicate things for people. His straightforward, humorous yet compassionate approach to training makes him a delight to work with. Delegates connect with his empathy and easy style.

Since joining Impact Factory Dom has worked with the Competition Commission, General Medical Council, BNP Paribas, Charles Tyrwhitt and Subsea 7 among many others.

Although he has a gravitational pull towards Presentation, Public Speaking and PowerPoint training, he is also a gifted trainer with Assertiveness, Personal Impact and Influencing and Negotiation.

Outside work he likes to spend time with his small army of nephews, organising and playing in his local five-a-side football team (despite the fractures), winning, and sometimes losing, his local pub quiz, plenty of walks on the Heath and eating good food.

Dom is a firm believer in the Japanese proverb ''to laugh is to spend time with the Gods''. Preferably in a godly pub.
