Areas of expertise for management professor Don Stanford are commercial law, the legal environment of business, managerial law, mutual funds, and sports law and management.  

He joined the faculty of UNC''s business school in 1984. 

Professor Stanford is also an attorney in private practice in the Research Triangle. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar and an arbitrator in the North Carolina court system. He is a former special assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia and a former Democratic staff member of the U.S. Senate Watergate Committee. 

Professor Stanford received his JD from the Antioch School of Law and his AB from Brown University.
