Biography
Biography
Donna Gallup, Ed.D., is a licensed social worker who, over the last 20 years, has worked extensively with special needs populations: homeless, adults with mental illness, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and adults with chronic health conditions and addictions. In 2017, as CEO and president of American Family Housing, she established a visionary concept for the nation’s award-winning Potter’s Lane, the first permanent-housing development for homeless veterans built with shipping containers. Gallup received the 2013 ACLU Bill of Rights Award and Orange County’s 100 Most Influential People Award (2015 and 2016), and was nominated for the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business Award (2016 and 2017). In addition to her extensive nonprofit leadership career, she also worked as field faculty for the Rutgers and Fordham social work programs. Her academic interests are to develop social work leaders and address homelessness through housing innovation. She is involved in several consulting projects with national organizations to address the homeless crisis in Los Angeles County.
