Biography

Dorothy Sander, M.Div. is a philosopher, essayist and author. Founder of AgingAbundantly.com, Sander is a significant voice for the movement initiated by the Boomer generation to redefine what it means to be a woman over fifty in the 21st century.
Born in Erie, PA in 1951, she spent her early childhood in Maine and her teen years in New York where she gained her love of music, art and off Broadway theater. She continued her education at a small liberal arts college in Vermont in the late 1960's and early 1970's, where she became deeply involved in the peace movement. She received her B.A. in Economics from Hope College in Michigan but fell in love with philosophy and theology in her last year.
She took this new found passion to Princeton Theological Seminary where she was introduced to the thought of Carl Jung and psycho/spiritual thought. Graduating with an M.Div. in Pastoral Counseling she worked with George Gallup, Jr. in the development of the Princeton Religion Research Center, polling Americans on their religious believes. Later she worked in Marketing for Paulist Press.
She married in 1982 and turned to raising her children and running a home based business with her husband. A series of life altering circumstances at midlife prompted her to circle back around to her love of all things psycho/spiritual and to begin putting her thoughts into written words.
