With over 30 years at PepsiCo and Royal Dutch Shell, Doug managed some of the world’s leading brands and led global Sales & Marketing organizations across B2B, B2C and Retail industries.
During his 12 years with Shell, Doug helped lead the globalization of the Downstream businesses focusing on customer development best-practice. As Vice President, Retail Marketing (2008-2013), Doug was accountable for all aspects of marketing across Shell’s global network of 43,000 retail sites including the fuel brand portfolio, pricing, convenience retail, payment card & loyalty offers, CRM & customer communications, site design, business model design, the retailer performance management framework, and customer insights. In the Lubricants business (2001-2007), Doug held a number of global roles including VP Marketing & Strategy alongside Key Account Sales accountabilities. In addition to these operational roles, Doug was also responsible for overall Shell brand development as the Chairman of the Board of Shell’s Trademark holding company and overseeing one of Shell’s largest Downstream JVs as the Chairman of Board of STAS in Turkey.
Doug began his post-graduate career at Frito-Lay in 1982. After rotating through a variety of US Marketing roles, Doug moved to Frito-Lay International where he was the head of Marketing for the newly acquired Walkers Crisps business in the UK and then the General Manager of Frito-Lay Turkey. In 1996 Doug joined Pepsi-Cola North America, where he held the roles of VP, Pepsi Trademark and VP, Non-Carbonated beverages over a 5 year period.
Doug has been married to his wife, Tiernan Shea, for 30 years and is the father of 3 children: 23, 20 and 15 years old. Doug received his BA in History with Honors from Bates College and his Masters in Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
