P. Douglas Maier, CPA, MS is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Health Administration at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

Professor Maier is the Chief Financial Officer of the North Philadelphia Health System (NPHS), dba the Behavioral Wellness Center which is a 271 bed Psychiatric Hospital servicing the Psychiatric and Addiction needs in the city of Philadelphia. Professor Maier was hired to bring the bankrupt NPHS out of bankruptcy and the organization is now on strong financial ground.

Professor Maier has over 35 years of financial experience including 28 in healthcare finance. He has held various CFO positions and performed similar roles on a consulting basis.

Professor Maier is a strong believer in giving back to his profession and community and has been on 11 Board of Directors including being president of the Philadelphia chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
