Biography

Dr. Gold is a 1992 graduate of The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business with a BSBA that focused on international finance and investments. He is also a 2002 graduate of The University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School. Dr. Gold has spent time working in investment banking and consulting and has advised numerous start-ups as well as established companies such as Microsoft and Coca-Cola, on a variety of topics including financial, marketing, and strategic matters. His current areas of interest encompass strategic management, social media, emotional intelligence, professional development, and the strategic management of innovation. Dr. Gold is a certified trainer for TalentSmart Level 1 and Level 2 Emotional Intelligence programs and has worked with several of the NCAA Division II athletic teams at Saint Leo on how emotional intelligence impacts success in sports. He has also given presentations and invited keynote speeches around the world on a variety of strategic management and technology related topics, as well as giving talks on emotional intelligence. Dr. Gold has previously held positions at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Virginia Polytechnic University (aka Virginia Tech), and the University of South Carolina. He has taught core management, strategy, management of innovation, and information systems classes to undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. students. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, exercise, travel and is an active master scuba diver trainer.
